4 Different Types Of Outdoor Grills

If you want to get outside and do more cooking this year, you will need to have the right type of grill in place. There are lots of different types of grills you can use to cook outside; the key is to find the right one to fit your cooking style and needs.

#1: Gas Grill

One of the most common and popular types of outdoor grill is a gas grill. You can use either propane cans or natural gas via a hook-up to your home to power the grill. A gas grill is great if you want to be able to quickly heat up your grill, make a meal, and not worry too much about clean up.

With a gas grill, you are going to be able to cook outside. However, you are not going to get that charcoal smell or taste in your food.

Gas grills can vary in price from around a hundred dollars for a small and straightforward gas grill to a few thousand dollars for a larger gas grill with more burners and features.

#2: Charcoal Grill

A charcoal grill is for someone who loves that smokey flavor when grilling. If you want your meat to have that classic smoky grilled flavor, you need to go with a charcoal grill.

A charcoal grill requires patience. You must allow the grill time to heat up before you can cook, although once the grill is cooked up, you can easily sear meat. After you are done, you will have to clean the grill up and deal properly with the ashes.

For a nice charcoal grill, you will have to pay at least a couple hundred dollars, although fancier charcoal grills can run up to a few thousand dollars.

#3: Electric Grill

An electric grill is a fun way to cook outside if you live somewhere where you can't use a gas or charcoal grill. For example, if you live in an apartment building that doesn't allow for the use of gas or charcoal grills.

You can still enjoy doing a little grilling outside and get some classic grill marks on your food with an electric grill, but you will sacrifice the charcoal smoked taste. Electric grills are usually reasonably priced.

#4: Portable Grill

A portable grill is kind of like a mini grill. It can be propane or charcoal powered. It is designed to be small and moveable. It is perfect for taking out camping, picnicking, or tailgating. It is great for cooking for just a few people and tends to be affordable.

When it comes to getting a grill to cook outside, you need to decide if you want a full-size grill or a portable grill. Then you need to decide if you want a propane grill, a charcoal grill, or an electric grill. Whatever you choose, you will be able to do some cooking outside.
