If you are redoing your bedroom, then you should take the opportunity to pick the right bedroom furniture. You want your bedroom to be a relaxing place to sleep in, a calm place to relax in, and a nice-looking place to appreciate. Here are some of the different options you have for bedroom furniture and some of the advantages that different types of furniture pieces can offer: 

Murphy bed - If you would rather your bedroom be more like a room you can use to entertain in or use as an office, and sleeping is something that you don't necessarily put too much attention toward, then you may want a Murphy bed. You can fold the bed up into a cabinet during the day, or any other time you want the bed out of sight, then pull it down when you go to sleep. 

Futon - If you are going to be using your bedroom to entertain a lot, then you may want a futon. This way, you can fold it into a couch when you have people visiting, then easily pull it back out into a bed when they leave. 

Headboard - When you are looking for a headboard for your bed, you want to make sure you get one that has the features you will truly appreciate. If you want to have access to a lot of things while you are lying down, then you can get a headboard with shelves and cabinets. If you want a simple headboard, then you can also find a nice basic one. If you are someone who loves mirrors, you can find a headboard with one or more mirrors designed into it. 

Dresser - You want to make sure you get a dresser that will easily store all of the clothing you have, but you also want one that's the shape you want. If you like the idea of being able to display a lot of things on the dresser, then go with a long one. If you like the idea of having a dresser that doesn't take up too much room, then you want a tallboy dresser. 

Nightstands - Nightstands give you a place to put things like your phone, your drink, and your laptop. However, you can find minimal or small nightstands if you are short on extra space in your room. Or, you can get a nightstand that has shelves if you have space and need all the storage you can get.
